Pressurized Bag Filter Canister

Our Pressurized Bag Filter accepts filter bag inserts with micron porosities from 10 to 200 microns in felt and from 200 to 800 microns in polyester mesh. Consider Bag Filters when backwash waste water is not an option.

Filter bag inserts are the same as gravity bags, but they have a rigid stainless steel ring sewn in the cuff which makes them better suited for a pressurized application.

Bag Filter Canisters are best used as the final mechanical filter prior to the water returning to the tanks. As our drawing demonstrates, we most recommend these
filters to be used prior to the UV sterilizer. Each Bag Filter Canister is rated for a maximum of 50 GPM. Applications exceeding this flow rate, multiple filters can be manifold together. Notice the pressure relief valve installed between the two canisters-this prevents pump dead-heading.

EA- PBFS (Pressurized Bag Filter System)
System Sizes: 500 - 6,000 Gallons
System Circulating Capacity: 50 - 300 Gallons Per Minute

EA-PBFS 3-D diagram.

The EA-PBFS or Pressurized Bag Filter System has the capacity to mechanically filter water down to sub-micron porosities, although 50 through 100-micron porosity filter bags are the most common. The EA-PBFS uses our proven Pressure Bag Filter Canister that operates with either 7” x 32” felt or open mesh filter bag inserts. You can even combine multiple bag filters for additional capacity. The EA-PBFS does not generate the wastewater common to sand or bead filters. Our felt filter bags are extremely efficient at solid waste capture--exceeding the efficiency of sand and bead filters. Filter bag inserts are inexpensive and can be cleaned and re-used several times; typically lasting up to six months.

System Benefits:
• Efficient solid waste capture
• A variety of micron porosity filter bags are available.
Cost efficient
• Effective UV Sterilization based on the application’s UV   exposure requirements.
• No wastewater effluent
• Easy to install and operate

Special Considerations:
This Pressure Bag Filter System requires routine cleaning of the filter bag, usually twice weekly. We recommend using one of our pressure relief valves (#30B0051) per filter when operating our pressure bag filters. Each Pressurized Bag Filter, when used with a 50 micron porosity insert, are capable of operating at a maximum water flow rate of 50 GPM. Multiple bag filters can be operated in tandem to achieve higher flow rates for larger applications.
