EAI-RFS#1 Recirculating Filtration System
The Emperor Aquatics, Inc. Recirculating Filtration System #1, a complete “water re-use” filtering system, is suitable for either fresh or saltwater and is designed for moderately sized fish holding systems and exhibits. This complete system combines mechanical filtering, bio-filtration, protein skimming, and UV disinfection, all of which are necessary to sustain a long-term healthy aquatic environment. A unique advantage of this system is the independently sump operated filter components, which increase performance and reliability. Water is thoroughly filtered, then disinfected prior to returning to the tank(s). Benefits include: water saving micron-specific mechanical filtering (no wasted water from backwashing), industrial grade bio-filtration requiring little maintenance, re-oxygenating clarification via protein skimming and protective UV disinfection.

- Centralized Sump
- Gravity Filter Bags (100 micron recommended)
- Fluidized Bed Biological Filter with Re-Air Tower
- AquaFoam PVC or Poly Protein Skimmer
- Pressurized Bag Filter (25 or 50 micron recommended)
- UV Sterilizer - sized to the specific requirements of the system
(flow-rate & target microorganism)
- UV Sterilizer Remote Power Enclosureor the optional PLC UV Controller/Monitor
EAI-RFS#2 Recirculating Filtration System
The Emperor Aquatics, Inc. Recirculating Filtration System #2 is a simplified version of the EAI-RFS #1 with the benefit of combined bio-filtering and protein skimming in one unit (BioFoam Filter). This system is suitable for either fresh or saltwater but was created with cold water ornamentals (goldfish/koi) in mind. The advantages of this system are: efficient mechanical filtering without backwashing and optimal bio-filtering/dissolved organic waste removal via the BioFoam Filter. Additionally, water must pass through UV disinfection prior to returning to the tank(s). The system requires little routine maintenance yet delivers exceptional results.

EAI-PRFS Pressurized Recirculating Filtration System
The Emperor Aquatic, Inc. Pressurized Recirculating Filtration System is a “closed-loop” filtering system, operating under pressure as opposed to gravity flow. Operating under pressure allows for the PRFS to be positioned in a remote location from the pool. This system is suitable for either fresh or saltwater applications but due to the cost of synthetic salt and the filter’s water requirement for backwashing (cleaning) we recommend freshwater applications exclusively. The EAI-PRFS can actually be operated with a variety of filter styles that include: sand and other sinking media filters as well as floating bead filters. This system style is best suited for water features, freshwater exhibits, and mammal bathing pools.
Optimum water circulation is critical when filtering large applications and is required to suspend solids so that they reach the pool’s drain(s), surface skimmer(s), and ultimately the filter. We recommend multiple clean water returns (quantity will vary depending on the size and configuration of the pool) strategically spaced through out the pool. This will optimize circulation and solids suspension when large solids are a concern. Also consider increasing the straining capacity on the pump’s suction. Advantages of this system include: remote filter system positioning capability, effective mechanical filtering (via sand/bead filter), control of waterborne bacteria, and control of algae (via UV sterilizer). Optional Automated Backwash is available.

EAI-PBFS Pressurized Bag Filtration System
The PBFS or Pressurized Bag Filtration System has the capacity to mechanically filter water down to sub-micron porosities, although 50 through 100-micron porosity filter bags are the most common. The PBFS uses Pressure Bag Canister Filters that operate with either 7” x 16 ” or 7" x 26" filter bag inserts. The PBFS does not generate the wastewater common to sand or bead filters. Our felt filter bags are extremely efficient at solid waste capture--exceeding the efficiency of sand and bead filters. Filter bag inserts are inexpensive and can be cleaned and re-used several times; typically lasting up to six months.
Special Considerations:
This Pressure Bag Filter System requires routine cleaning of the filter bag, usually twice weekly. We recommend using one of our pressure relief valves (#30B0051) per filter when operating our pressure bag filters. Each Pressurized Bag Filter are capable of operating at a maximum water flow rate of 50 GPM (or 70GPM for theC75 TBF). Multiple bag filters can be operated in tandem to achieve higher flow rates for larger applications.
