Our Gravity Bag Filters are a favorite among Pet Stores and
Public Aquarium Husbandry Personnel. Their simple design and
inexpensive cost combined with their durability makes them a
popular filter.
Recommended Installation
Gravity Bag Filters are available in two filter materials
(non-woven felt and open mesh nylon monofilament), two lengths
(16” and 32”) and three attachment styles (stainless
steel ring, polypropylene ring and draw tie) sewn into their
cuffs. The popular way to use Gravity Filter Bags is inside
a sump attached to a gravity drainpipe. Dirty water from the
system enters the sump via the filter bag, trapping the solid
waste. The diagram demonstrates the filter bag being used with
a bag adaptor.
Special Comments
Bags with polypropylene rings should be used with bag adaptors.
Bags with draw ties may be tied onto the end of the drain pipe.
To avoid a loose filter bag being drawn into the pump, provide
a sizable strainer to the suction of the pump as shown in the
diagram. |
