Filter with UV Sterilizer Installation |
|
Recommended Installation
The above diagram shows the sand filter combined with a
automatic backwash valve and the UV Sterilizer positioned after
the sand filter. We recommend this arrangement to be used with
reptile and mammal pools, ornamental ponds and water features.
Surface skimmers and bottom drains should supply the systems
pump suction with water. When used with heavy solid waste applications
we recommend the sand filter media be at least 1 mm to 2 mm.
Finer grades of sand may allow the media bed to pack down. Larger
media such as pebble or lava rock defeat the intended purpose
of the sand filter (trapping and backwashing solid waste).
Special Comments
Do not install a valve behind the UV Sterilizer.
Do not exceed the sand filters recommended flow requirements.
Emperor Aquatics offers this filter / UV Sterilizer combination
in flow rates up to 800 gpm, or for exhibits up to approximately
100,000 gallons using one filter system.
To eliminate the sand filter media bed from packing down causing
filter failure, we encourage our customers to purchase a automatic
backwash valve with this system. |
